Williams Announces $350,000 RACP Award for The Concept School Improvements

HARRISBURG – Rep. Craig Williams (R-Delaware/Chester) announced a $350,000 Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant for improvements at The Concept School in Thornbury Township, Chester County.

The funding will support renovations to the school's existing campus, including a new building façade and school entrance, parking lot reconfiguration and front landscaping, a redesigned front lobby, new classrooms and study spaces, a continuous library, additional storage, new administrative offices and an updated staff room.

“The Concept School has built a strong reputation for serving students in our community,” said Williams. “I supported this grant as it invests in an educational institution with a proven record of success. These improvements will expand instructional space and modernize the campus for our students and educators. It brings me great pride to serve this school and its students, families and teachers.”

Founded in 1972 by a group of concerned educators, The Concept School provides quality education for students requiring education options for their academic growth in grades 6 through 12. The school creates a challenging and supportive environment for students who may have difficulty focusing in class, struggle with reading comprehension, find social interaction difficult, or for those who seek a small school environment. The Concept School is a non-profit education entity licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program provides state funding for projects that generate regional economic, civic, cultural, recreational or historical benefits. The Pennsylvania Office of the Budget administers the program.
